Nicolas Fauré 🇫🇷

Nicolas is from Strasbourg, France. He has a BSc in Chemistry and Biology and a MSc in Atmospheric Sciences. Since 2021 he is a PhD student at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden) in Atmospheric Chemistry. His PhD thesis is about physiochemical properties of aerosol particles surfaces and how these surfaces affect chemical reactivity, trace gas uptake and phase transitions (liquid and ice formation). He is visiting the NBD group to conduct experiments with the high speed cryo-microscope to investigate how surface active molecules impact the onset location of freezing in droplets. These surface active molecules were extracted from seawater microlayer samples collected in the Arctic Ocean during the ARTofMELT 2023 campaign onboard Swedish icebreaker Oden. Outside the lab he enjoys hiking, running, cycling, football, reading and more recently started watercolor painting.
