            McGill University, Montreal, Quebec

BSc in Chemistry,

Stony Brook University, New York, USA

Dr. Alexander Logozzo 🇺🇸

Alexander is originally from New York. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Stony Brook University, where he characterized marine aerosols to assess their potential to nucleate ice in the atmosphere. He then completed his Ph.D. in Chemistry at McGill University, where his dissertation focused on reaction acceleration mechanisms in microdroplets. In this work, he used optical trapping to facilitate visible-light-driven photochemistry for the prebiotic synthesis of peptides. Alexander joined the NBD group in January 2026 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. His current research investigates ice-nucleating proteins and engineered nanoparticles for their ability to act as efficient ice nuclei. When not in the lab, he enjoys enjoys baking, playing basketball, reading, and chess.
